The Flin Flon Bombers are excited to announce that Mike Reagan has signed a new contract to remain with the Bombers for the next two seasons.
“Being from Flin Flon and being a part of the organization for as long as I have has been great. My heart has and always will be with the Bombers. We have had a lot of success but I would love to get over the final hump and get that last piece of success and win a championship with the Bombers. I love being the coach here and I believe we have a great group of players returning that can do something special.” – Bombers Head Coach & GM, Mike Reagan
The longest-tenured coach in the SJHL, Reagan will be entering his 19th season behind the bench for the Bombers. Since taking over during the 2007-2008 season, the Bombers have posted a record of 563-327-82. The Bombers have won five division titles and have appeared in the SJHL final five times, three out of the previous four seasons. During the 2023-2024 season the Bombers posted their best regular season record since the 2000-2001 season by putting up 44 wins. At the conclusion of the season, Mike was named the SJHL & CJHL Coach of the Year.
This past season Mike was also named the Head Coach for Team Canada West at the World Junior A Challenge in Camrose, Alberta. Team Canada West defeated Team Canada East 5-2 in the Bronze Medal game. This was Reagan’s fourth appearance with Team Canada West after winning two Gold Medal’s in 2015 and 2017.
In the last ten seasons, Mike has helped advance over twenty players to the NCAA Division I ranks, including Donavan Villeneuve-Houle who is currently playing for the San Jose Sharks AHL affiliate, the San Jose Barracuda.
“With the success we have seen over the last eight seasons it was very important to re-sign Mike. We are happy to have him for another two years and the timing is perfect with spring camp coming up this weekend. It is important to show continuity to our current players and prospects.” – Bombers President, Travis Rideout
