Bombers Forward Keefe Gruener Commits to Brock University

The Flin Flon Bombers are pleased to announce that graduating forward Keefe Gruener has committed to Brock University (U-Sports).

Gruener was acquired at the 2024 CJHL Trade Deadline from the AJHL’s Fort McMurray Oil Barons and had an immediate impact which saw the Bombers reach the league final for a third season in a row. Heading into his final season of junior hockey, Keefe was named an alternate captain. The product of Winnipeg, Manitoba had a breakout season by scoring 34 goals and adding 28 assists in just 47 games. Gruener’s 34 goals was second among all SJHL players and his 1.32 points-per-game-average was sixth. In 12 playoff games, Keefe put up 9 points.

Not only did Gruener contribute on the scoresheet, he was one of the SJHL’s top penalty killers and had one of the league’s highest faceoff percentages at 65%.

The Brock University Badgers compete in the Ontario University Athletics Conference and finished the 2024-2025 season with a 12-11-5 record. Former Bomber Rylan Thiessen is currently a Badger and will be heading into his fourth season with the program.
