BOMBERS ACQUIRE YOUNG FROM BRONC’S FOR WONG
The Flin Flon Bombers are pleased to have acquired Jessie Young (Port Coquitlam, BC, CAN) from the Humboldt Bronco’s in exchange for Mike Wong (Calgary, AB).
“With Young, we are getting a bigger forward that we feel has big upside.” said Bomber Head Coach/GM Mike Reagan.
He added “He has a great shot, potential to play a heavy game, and he’s right handed, which we were looking to acquire. We also feel he has the potential to score 20 plus goals for us this season, and we are excited to add him into our lineup this season.”
On Wong, Reagan had this to say;
” we lose a high energy kid that works hard, skates well, and is a great team guy. We this this will be a great opportunity for for Mike, and felt that we were just to deep to give him more ice time which Wonger was really looking for. I think Mike will fit in nicely with Humboldt and has the ability to put up some good numbers. We wish Mike all the best and want to thank him for his time as a Bombers.”
Young played last season with the Weyburn Red Wings, notching 19 points in 48 games, and adding an assist in 6 playoff contests. He’s been a proven point producer in the past, with the Vancouver NE Chiefs of the BCMMHL, he racked up 35 points in 39 games, finishing with an impressive 4 goals and 2 assists in 6 playoffs games.
