The Flin Flon Bombers have named 20 year old’s Cole Vardy, Mason Kaspick and Matt Raymond alternate captains for the 2021-22 season. All 3 players will be returning for their 3rd season with the Bombers.

Vardy is the lone 20 year old currently on the Bombers backend. The Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia, product appeared in 43 games as a rookie during the 2019-20.

“Cole is our most experienced defenceman on the roster this season. He was a part of our team that had advanced to the SJHL’s semi final during the 2019-20 season. He brings a physical element to the backend and he knows how we want our defencemen to play.” – Bombers Head Coach & General Manager, Mike Reagan

Kaspick has scored in both games this season and currently leads the team in blocked shots with 7.

“Mason brings a lot of the same characteristics that Vardy and Raymond do. Kass is a great penalty killer and does a lot of the little things right. He embraces his leadership role and will do whatever it takes to win.” – Bombers Head Coach & General Manager, Mike Reagan

Raymond has yet to suit up with the Bombers this season. In 37 career games as a Bomber, Raymond has produced 11 points (7g, 4a) and 81 penalty minutes.

“Matt is a team first guy who is willing to do whatever it takes to win. He put’s the team ahead of himself and he understands what it takes to be a part of a winning culture. All 3 of these guys truly believe in being a Bomber and that’s very important to have in your leadership group.” Bombers Head Coach & General Manager, Mike Reagan
