The Flin Flon Bombers are excited to announce that ’03 Bomber Forward, Jacob Vockler, has committed to extend his hockey and academic career at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri (NCAA D1).
The Sioux Falls, South Dakota product started his career with the Bombers at the beginning of the 2021/2022 season and instantly made his mark, grabbing 14 goals and 24 assists for 38 points in his first season. On top of that, he also notched 12 points (6G, 6A) in 18 games during the SJHL playoffs and also had 4 goals in 5 games during their Centennial Cup run, where they lost in the Quarter-Finals. The following season, Vockler started right where he left off, tallying 13 goals and 31 assists in only 40 games. During the playoffs, he averaged a point a game, grabbing 15 points (5G, 10A) in 15 games. This past year, Vockler had another outstanding season, grabbing 22 goals and 51 assists for 73 points during the regular season. He helped the Bombers stay at #1 in CJHL Power Rankings for 15 week straight and finish off the season with a 44-9-2-1 record. He also had 17 points (4G, 13A) in 12 games during the 2023/24 post season. Overall, during his time with the Bombers, Vockler had 64 goals and 135 assists for 199 points in 190 games, three SJHL Showcase selections, three trips to SJHL Finals and one trip to the National Championship Tournament.
The Lindenwood Lions finished off this past season with a 6-18-4 record. Bombers defenceman, Noah Houle, also committed their this season and they also have two former Bombers on the roster, Drew Kuzma and Jaeden Mercier, who were teammates with Vockler.
