Flin Flon Bomber Head Coach and General Manager Mike Reagan announced today that the team has sent 1997 born forward Rylee Zimmer (Russell, MB) and 1998 born defenseman Troy Williams (Dryden, ON) to the Melville Millionaires to complete the trade that saw 1996 born Eric Sinclair (Kenora, ON).
“It was always our intention to make sure they (Melville) were getting the value of Sinclair in return,” said Reagan. “We always knew we were going to give up two quality players in return for arguably the best player in the league last year.”
Aquired from the Waywayseecappo Wolverines of the MJHL, Zimmer had 81 points (27g, 54a) in 79 games with the Bombers over parts of two seasons. The former WHL’er also added 21 points (6g, 15a) in 32 games in back to back league finals with the Bombers.
Williams was acquired from the Steinbach Pistons of the MJHL at the December 1st Deadline and had 15 points (6g, 9a) in 27 games along with 3 points (1g, 2a) in 16 playoff games.
“We wanted this to be a fair deal, we wanted this to work for Melville,” added Reagan. “we had to give up two quality players for Eric, but it’s important that both teams feel they benefited from this trade so that you have that trust for future trades.”
“We want to thank Troy and Rylee for their time as Bombers and wish them the best in Melville.”
