The Flin Flon Bombers allowed four goals in the first, one in the second and two more in the third period as the Notre Dame Hounds avoided a sweep, winning 7-4 last night in Wilcox, SK.
Nick Shumlanski (Tisdale, SK) opened the scoring early in the first, just 1:48 in, as he went in alone shorthanded for his first of the playoffs.
Notre Dame then went on to score four before the end of the first, all on starter Zac Robidoux (Winnipeg, MB) on 13 shots, making way for Brenden Newton (Medicine Hat, AB) to make his first appearance of the post season in the second period.
Overall the Hounds outshot the Bombers 35-28.
Nate Hooper (Winnipeg, MB) brough the lead to within two early into the second period, 2:22 in, but the Hounds would add another late to take a 5-2 lead into the third period.
For the third time on the night, the Bombers opened the scoring of a period early with Jordan McCausland (Brandon, MB) potting his second of the series 1:56 into the final frame.
The teams would trade goals after that with Jason Lavallee (Thetford Mines, QC) scoring his third of the series with less than a minute left in the game on the power play.
The team will return to action tomorrow night for Game 5 at the Whitney Forum. Tickets for the game will go on sale today (Thursday March 23) when the Bomber office opens up at 12:00 pm.
