The Flin Flon Bombers opened up their 2017 Road to the Canalta Cup with a pair of wins against the Notre Dame Hounds.

Eric Sinclair (Kenora, ON) and Rylee Zimmer (Russell, MB) each had four points over the weekend and Zac Robidoux (Winnipeg, MB) made 39 saves on 41 shots, helping the Bombers to identical 4-1 scores and a 2-0 lead in their best of seven SJHL Quarter Final matchup against the Notre Dame Hounds Friday and Saturday at the Whitney Forum.

After a Notre Dame goal midway through the first period, 955 fans witnessed four unanswered on Friday night.

Jason Lavallee (Thetford Mines, QC) tied up the score just a minute later as Sinclair scored the eventual game winner in the second period.  Brandon Lesko (Hafford, SK) and Kristian St. Onge (Saskatoon, SK) rounded out the scoring in the third.

On Saturday night St. Onge opened up the scoring with his second of the post season.  Rylan Tkachuk (Boyle, AB) would score the game winner four minutes into the second when he roofed a short side shot on a breakaway.

Lavallee and Lesko would add their second goals of the playoffs in the third.

The Bombers will travel to Regina, SK today in preparation of Games 3 and 4 in Wilcox, SK starting on Tuesday night.
