One day removed from winning their first divisional crown in six seasons, the Flin Flon Bombers are happy to announce they have resigned their Head Coach and General Manager and the team has agreed to a year contract extension with Mike Reagan.
“I’m really happy and relieved to have this contract in place before the start of the playoffs,” commented Reagan on the contract extension. “This is good going forward for many reasons.”
Reagan has been at the head of the franchise for 10 seasons where he’s compiled a record of 316-206-48 winning two divisional crowns and one league final appearance, which was last season, the team’s first in 20+ years.
Along with the on ice success Reagan has had with the team, he has had 20 players commit to NCAA Division I scholarships along with another 20+ to Division III and Canadian University and College programs. Five have gone on to professional hockey.
“That’s something I take pride in,” added Reagan. “We want on ice success and success on the ice also reflects in the scholarships and commitments that we have coming out of this program. “
The past three seasons Reagan has also been a part of Canada West at the World Junior A Challenge, winning gold with the program in 2015 as the team’s Video Coach.
The teams existing contract with their coach expired after this season’s completion. Reagan will be the team’s Head Coach and General Manager through to the 2018-19 season.
