In the middle of a 6 game losing streak, Head Coach and General Manager Mike Reagan made a move yesterday, landing one of the biggest fish out there, by acquiring reigning SJHL Defensman of the Year in 1996 born rearguard Eric Sinclair (Kenora, ON).
Sinclair, who was a pivotal part of the Melfort Mustangs back to back Canalta Cup Championships, was acquired by the Melville Millionaires earlier this year from Melfort as part of the Kirk Bear/Carter Hansen deadline deal.
“We have been working on this deal for some time now,” commented Reagan. “I think he is the best dman in the league and defiantly fills the void left when we dealt (Curtis) Roach.”
In two games with the Mustangs this year, Sinclair had 5 points (2g, 3a). In 58 last year with the club, he had 45 points (13g, 32a) and added another 6 (1g, 5a) in 17 playoff games .
In the trade, Flin Flon gave up future considerations.
Sinclair will be in the lineup this weekend when they play host to the Kindersley Klippers for a pair starting on Friday. This weekend will also mark the Bomber’s annual Parents Weekend.
