Smith SJHL Player Of The Week, Hayward SJHL Rookie Of The Week

The two forwards were instrumental in helping the Bombers win a pair of games this past weekend.

For the second time his season, the Flin Flon Bombers 1995 born Alex Smith (Edmonton, AB) has been named the Canalta Hotels SJHL Player of the Week.

Smith helped the Bombers win a pair of games this past weekend, moving them to above the .500 mark on the season.

Friday night Smith had four assists in the Bombers 6-0 win against the Nipawin Hawks, and added a goal and another helper in their 8-3 win against the Estevan Bruins.

On the season Smith has 39 points (16g, 23a) in 29 games, good for fourth overall in the SJHL.

Along with Smith, 1997 born forward Josh Hayward (Edmonton, AB) was named the SJHL Rookie of the Week.

Hayward, who was acquired by the Bombers from the Okotoks Oilers of the AJHL at the beginning of the season, also contributed offensively in the team’s two wins.

Friday Hayward had two goals in the win on Friday against the Hawks and scored another on Saturday against the Bruins.

Overall Hayward has 10 points (6g, 4a) in 18 games with the Bombers.
