Flin Flon looks to snap two game skid with a trip to Melfort.

There are two games on tap in the SJHL tonight, and one of them will see the Flin Flon Bombers (0-1-0-1) try to get into the win column for the first time in this young season.  But it won’t be an easy task as they hit the road to face off against the defending Canalta Cup Champion Melfort Mustangs (1-0-0-1) (Game Time: 8:30 pm, Radio: 102.9 CFAR).

The Bombers are off a weekend that saw the team lose leads in both games against the Nipawin Hawks, losing 6-3 in Nipawin on Friday and 5-4 in a shootout on Saturday.

1995 born forward Alex Smith (Edmonton, AB) leads all forward in points so far with 3 points (2g, 1a) in 2 games but a pair of blueliners lead the way with 1997 born Curtis Roach (Saskatoon, SK) putting up 4 assists and 1995 born Joel Webb (Edmonton, AB) having 3 points (1g, 2a) in the weekend action.

The trio of Tristian Frei, Justin Boyer and Travis Mayan are continuing where they left off from last season.  The three lead the team in scoring with Frei (4 points) leading the way over Boyer and Mayan (3 points each).

1995 born Richard Palmer is the man in the net again this season.  The Calgary, AB native started both games over the weekend finishing with a 2.88 goals against average and a 0.891 save percentage in the two games.

Flin Flon will try to avoid starting the season 0-3 for the first time since the 2007-08 season, Mike Reagan’s first behind the bench, when the team lost their first four games before winning their next five straight.
