Team's leading goal scorer will head East to continue his hockey career.

The Flin Flon Bombers are proud to announce that 1994 born forward Chris Rauckman (Red Deer, AB) has committed to the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers Men’s Ice Hockey Team of the CIS for the 2015-16 season.

Rauckman became a Bomber during the 2014 offseason as part of the futures that was acquired when the team traded All Star goalie Devin Buffalo during the 2014 Trade Deadline to the Drumheller Dragons of the AJHL.

He didn’t disappoint.  The 6’0, 210 pounder scored 39 goals for the Bombers, which led the team, but was one shy of the SJHL lead.  He finished up with 25 assists for 64 points in 56 games.  Of his 39 goals, he 13 on the power play to lead the league, 3 were shorthanded which was tied for the league lead, and 5 were game winning goals, which was 2 shy of the league lead.

In the seven game battle against the Notre Dame Hounds to open up the SJHL playoffs, Rauckman had 8 points (4g, 4a) which was second on the team.

He also served as the team’s Assistant Captain.

Rauckman had several NCAA teams biding for his services for the 2015-16 season, but when it was found that he was ineligible, he shifted his focus to the CIS.

The University of PEI Panthers play in the AUS conference of the CIS.
