Bombers trade for 1995 born Defenseman Joel Webb and 1996 born Forward Jesse Shynkaruk for 1995 born Forward Austin Calladine.

Head Coach and General Manager Mike Reagan is pleased to announce the acquisition of 1995 born defenseman Joel Webb (Edmonton, AB) and the CJHL playing rights of 1996 born forward Jesse Shynkaruk (Saskatoon, SK) from the Kindersley Klippers in exchange for 1995 born forward Austin Calladine (Saskatoon, SK).

“We’re really excited about getting Webb,” said Reagan.  “We’ve been trying to acquire Joel for a year now; he’s someone that’s been on our radar for some time now.”

Webb played one season for the Klippers after being traded there from the Trail Smoke Eaters of the BCHL.  In 57 games with Kindersley he had 25 points (3g, 22a) and 32 penalty minutes.  He had 8 points (2g, 6a) in 10 playoff games.

“Joel’s the number 1 power play guy that we’re looking for,” added Reagan.  “He’s a hard working kid that’s committed to the game and motivated.”

In Shynkaruk the Bombers acquire a 19 year old that has played two seasons in the WHL, most recently with the Moose Jaw Warriors.  In 132 career games split between the Warriors and Kamloops Blazers, Shynkaruk has 28 points (13g, 15a).

Calladine was dealt after playing two seasons with the Bombers.  In 98 games with Flin Flon Calladine had 71 points (34g, 37a) leading the team in points during the 2013-14 season.  He also added 5 points (1g, 4a) in 11 playoff games over two seasons.
