Forcing Game 7

After dropping game 5 in Wilcox, the Bombers beat the Hounds 7-1 in Game 6.

They’re going to a Game 7!

After dropping Game 5 in Notre Dame on Friday night, the Flin Flon Bombers came back to the Whitney Forum down 3-2 in their best of 7 SJHL Quarter Finals. 

Flin Flon fired 62 shots on the Hounds net, scoring three times in the opening period cruising to a 7-1 victory and forcing a Game 7 back in Wilcox, SK on Tuesday night.

Brett Kitt (Brandon, MB) opened the scoring 6:37 in when he broke through two Notre Dame defenders snapping a shot high glove side for his second of the series.  Alex Smith (Edmonton, AB) and Mason Etter (Cedarburg, WI) picked up the assists.

Joel Kocur (Edson, AB) and Brett Boehm (Martensville, SK) would score goals just over a minute apart to make it 3-0.  Kocuer’s third of the playoffs was unassisted with Boehm’s second coming from Chris Rauckman (Red Deer, AB).

Danys Chartrand (Winnipeg, MB) and Boehm would score each in the second with Austin Calladine (Saskatoon, SK) and Rauckman rounding out the scoring in the third.

Cory Anderson would score the lone goal for the Hounds, just before the end of the second with the score 5-0.

ICE CHIPS:  Flin Flon was 2 for 11 on the power play last night with the Hounds going 0 for 2.  ---  All of the other quarter final series are complete with the Nipawin Hawks 4-0 win over the Melville Millonaires last night.  The Hawks will take on the Melfort Mustangs in the next round of the playoffs.
