The Bombers have three games left before their playoff picture is set.

It’s been 53 games so far this season, it will take the last three before we actually see where the Flin Flon Bombers will start and who they’ll play in their first round playoff series.

This weekend the Bombers play a home and home series starting tonight in La Ronge against the Ice Wovles (Game Time: 7:00 PM – Radio: 102.9 CFAR) with the return match going tomorrow at the Whitney Forum (Game Time: 6:30 PM – Radio: 102.9 CFAR).

Right now fourth-fifth-sixth spots are on the line.  The Bombers go into the weekend series tied with the Nipawin Hawks with 70 points, five back of the Notre Dame Hounds who sit in the fourth spot, and home ice advantage, with Flin Flon and Nipawin each having a game in hand on the Hounds.

Nipawin has a home and home series with the Sherwood Division leading Melfort Mustangs tonight and tomorrow, the Hounds are in Kindersley tonight and in North Battleford tomorrow night to cap off the regular season.  The Bombers face the Hawks on Tuesday on the last day of the regular season with possible playoff implications on the line.

Before they look to far ahead, they have to deal with the Ice Wolves, who are in a dog fight of their own.

They need to win both games this weekend to even have a chance at the playoff spot, win one and the best they can do it tie the Weyburn Red Wings, but he Wings hold the tie break.

The Wolves did win the last game between the two clubs, a 2-1 victory February 11 in La Ronge.  Overall the Bombers hold a 4-1-0-1 season series lead over their rivals in the North.

Things will clear up in the next four days, but right now it’s as muddy as it can get.
