Flin Flon travels to Melville and Yorkton this weekend looking to move up in the SJHL standings.

The Flin Flon Bombers hit the road this weekend, looking to get back in the win column, when they play a pair of Viterra Division opponents.

The Bombers (27-12-6-6) are coming of a 6-2 loss to the hands of the league leading Melfort Mustangs on Tuesday night, their second straight loss and sixth in the last four games.  Tonight they take on the Melville Millionaires (Game Time: 7:30 PM – Radio: 102.9 CFAR).

These two teams met up on Friday February 6th and we all remember the line brawl and 231 total penalty minutes in the 5-2 Bomber win.  Since that game, Flin Flon dropped three of four, their only win coming on home ice against the NIpawin Hawks last Friday night.

The Millionaires (24-24-2-2) are third overall in the SJHL playoff race but only have 52 points, sitting in the third see as the Viterra Division leaders.  The Bombers are 3-0-0-0 against the Mills this season, outscoring them 17-3 in the process.

Tomorrow night the Bombers will take on the defending RBC Cup champs, Yorkton Terriers (Game Time: 7:30 – Radio: 102.9 CFAR).  Yorkton (17-29-3-3) is dead last in the SJHL with 40 points, six back of the La Ronge Ice Wovles in the SJHL.  The Bombers are also 3-0 against the  Terriers this season.

The Bombers go into this weekend’s action in the midst of the biggest piece of the playoff picture, they are battling it out for fourth, fifth and sixth with the Notre Dame Hounds and Nipawin Hawks.  Right now the Bombers sit in sixth spot, which would have them facing off against the Melville Millionaires in the first round.  They are tied with Nipawin for fifth but the Hawks hold the fifth spot due to more wins, and are three back of the Hounds.  All three teams have played 51 games.
