The Bombers fired 48 shots on the Ice Wolves net but were only able to muster one goal, losing 2-1.

The offense just wasn’t there last night when the Flin Flon Bombers traveled to La Ronge to take on the Ice Wolves.  La Ronge scored two power play goals and the Bombers were only able to beat the Wolves starting goalie Kris Joyce once, for a 2-1 Ice Wolves win.

This all despite the fact that the Bombers were able to fire 45 shots on the Wolves goal.

The Wolves’ Colby Daniels would open the scoring 6:32 into the first when he fired a shot from the point past a screened Simon Hofley (Ottawa, ON).  The puck looked to take a re-direct infront of the Bombers goalie.

The Wolves increased the lead to 2-0 late in the second when Dave Randall one timed a cross ice pass from Joel Blacquiere.

Down 2-0 to start the third, Flin Flon came out firing 18 shots on the Wolves net but only Parker Evans-Campbell (High River, AB) on the power play was able to put one past Joyce.  Curtis Roach and Joel Kocur picked up the assists on Evans-Campbell’s 11th of the season.

The Bombers (26-10-6-6) wasn’t able to move up in the standings last night as they battle the Nipawin Hawks and Notre Dame Hounds for fourth in the playoff race.  Flin Flon is still tied with the Hawks and two back of the Hounds in the SJHL standings.  Both teams were idle last night.

The Bombers will start a crucial home and home series against Nipawin starting tomorrow night at the Whitney Forum.
