With nine games remaining in the regular season, the Bombers look to move up the standings when they visit La Ronge tonight.

The Flin Flon Bombers get back to action tonight when they hit the ice in the Mel Hegland Arena in La Ronge, SK when they take on the struggling Ice Wolves (Game Time: 7:30 PM – Radio: 102.9 CFAR).

The Bombers (26-9-6-6) are 5-2-1-2 in their last 10 but are winners of two straight and are looking to make a move in the tight race for fourth in the SJHL playoff picture and the very important home ice advantage.  Flin Flon is tied for fifth right now with the Nipawin Hawks with two games in hand, and sits two back of the Notre Dame Hounds, with a game in hand.

They will be short staffed tonight when four players, including three of the team’s regular defenseman, sit out with suspensions.  After the punch up against Melville on Saturday night, defensemen Tyler Bell (Regina, SK) and Braden Lacoursiere (Unity, SK) are both out for two games with Brandon Masson out for one.  Forward Alex Smith is also out for two games.  Smith, Bell and Masson are all suspended for being involved in the line brawl that happened in the second period, Lacouriere is out due to other disciplinary reasons.

Mason Etter (Ceadarburg, WI) will slide into the lineup and the Bombers will also call up 1998 born defenseman Cory Thomas, who plays with the Tisdale Trojans of the SMAAAHL.

The Bombers hold a 4-0-0-1 record against the Ice Wolves this season, the most recent was a 6-3 win for Flin Flon at home back on January 13th.

Nine games remain for the Bombers in the regular season, including tonight’s matchup.  After tonight the club will have a home and home series against the Hawks starting on Friday in Flin Flon.
