The SJHL handed out their Players of the Month on Saturday and a pair of Bombers took home the honors.
The RBC SJHL Player of the Month is Brett Boehm (Martensville, SK). Boehm returned to the Bombers after starting the season with the University of Minnesota-Duluth. The 1994 born forward has picked up right where he left off last season when he helped the Yorkton Terriers win the RBC Cup.
Since his return on January 4th, he’s had points in all 12 games in the month finishing up with 19 points (8g, 11a) including a four assist night against the La Ronge Ice Wolves on January 13 and a hat trick against the Notre Dame Hounds on the last day of the month.
The IBAS SJHL Defenseman of the Month is Tyler Bell (Regina, SK). Bell has elevated his game since 1995 born defenseman Tanner Lishchynsky’s recall to the WHL. Bell was already looked upon to be a solid defensive defenseman but since his increase in responsibilities, his offensive numbers have also increased.
The 1994 born defenseman finished up with 12 points (6g, 6a) in the 12 games in January including three multiple point games. On the season Bell has 17 points (9g, 8a) in 32 games since being assigned to the Bombers from the WHL.
