They have played six of their last eight games at home since returning from their Christmas break, so the Flin Flon Bombers will hit the road for a four game in five night stand starting tonight in Nipawin when they take on the Hawks (Game Time: 7:30 PM – Radio: 102.9 CFAR).
The offensive output got back on track this past weekend when the Bombers (23-8-5-5) scored a total of 15 goals over two games against the Yorkton Terriers, and with the two wins is now 8-1-0-1 in their last 10 games.
Nipawin (26-12-2-3) on the other hand are 5-4-0-1 in their last 10 including a loss to the same Terriers on January 20th and then lost back to back when they dropped a 4-1 decision last Friday night. They won their Saturday night matchup against the Battlefords North Stars.
The standings are tight in the Sherwood Division, with the Hawks sitting one point up on the Bombers, with the Bombers having two games in hand on their divisional rivals. The Hawks do hold a 3-1 record against the Bombers this season, winning two in overtime, and one in a shootout. The only game that was decided in regulation time was a Flin Flon victory on opening night when Flin Flon edged the Hawks 3-2, meaning all four games have been decided by one goal.
With the win, Flin Flon would move to 4th overall in the SJHL, they sit tied with the Notre Dame Hounds (CJHL Rank – HM), who they finish up the road trip against on Saturday night. Before then they are in Estevan on Wednesday and Weyburn on Friday.
