The Flin Flon Bombers will look to increase their six game winning streak tonight when they pay a visit to the Kindersley Klippers in the first of back to back games (Game Time: 7:30 – Radio: 102.9 CFAR).
Fresh off a 6-3 victory over the La Ronge Ice Wolves at home on Tuesday night, the Bombers (21-7-5-4) have points in eight of their last 10 games overall. The offense has picked up, they have scored at least four goals in their past three games, and the team’s two headed monster of Adam Beukeboom (Sundre, AB) and Simon Hofley (Ottawa, ON) are proving that a platoon can work in the nets.
In their way of continuing their streak is the SJHL’s second place club, the Klippers, who sit four points back of the Melfort Mustangs in the overall standings. The team is clutch at home, only losing once in regulation and once in a shootout. They have scored the second most in the SJHL, lead by Owen LaClare, who is second in the SJHL with 50 points, and the goaltending is lead by 1996 born Evan Weninger, who leads the league in goals against average (1.90), save percentage (0.944) and is tied in wins with 21.
The Bombers have had success against the Klippers this season, having won their first game, 4-0 back on November 19th, and had a 4-1 lead going into the third on December 5th, before allowing five in the third losing 6-4. Both of those games came at the Whitney Forum.
