The Flin Flon Bombers were down 1-0 after the first period in their home game against the Notre Dame Hounds on Saturday night, but two goals in the second, and two more in the third pushed them to their fifth straight win, with a 4-2 victory.
Simon Hofley (Ottawa, ON) made 11 saves in the first period, getting beat late in the first and finished the night with 30 saves for his 12th win of the season. He was beat late in the third for the other Hounds goal.
Alex Smith (Edmonton, AB) tied the game up, 4:40 into the second from line mates Brandon Switzer (Brandon, MB) and Joel Kocur (Edson, AB).
Austin Calladine (Saskatoon, SK) scored his 10th of the season to end the second with the Bombers leading 2-1. Brett Boehm (Martensville, SK) and Parker Evans-Campbell (High River, AB) would pick the assits on Calladine’s first goal since November 19th.
Chris Raukman (Red Deer, AB) would increase the lead with his 25 of the season, from Boehm and Dean Allison (Surrey, AB) before Switzer scored into an empty net to seal the win. Smith and Kocur picked up the assists.
The Bombers will play their final game of a four game home stand this Tuesday when they host the La Ronge Ice Wolves.
ICE CHIPS: The Bombers were 0 for 2 on the power play with the Hounds going 0 for 2 as well. --- The moved into second in the Sherwood Division, one point up on Nipawin, and tied with the Notre Dame Hounds for fourth overall in the SJHL. If the playoffs were to begin today, they would play the Hounds in the first round of the playoffs. --- The Bombers now hold a 7-3-2 record against the Kramer Division.
