Flin Flon entertains the league's top team when Kinderlsey travels to town tonight.

A battle of two of the SJHL’s top teams hit the ice tonight at the Whitney Forum when the Sherwood Division’s second place Flin Flon Bombers (11-3-3-3) takes on the league’s top team, Kindersley Klippers (17-4-1-2) (Game Time 7:30).  This is the first meeting between these two teams this season.

Kindersley boasts the league’s best record and the league’s lowest goals against most due to the play of 1996 born Evan Weninger who leads the league in wins (15), goals against average (2.11) and save percentage (0.939).

Upfront the team is lead by two time SJHL Player of the Week Owen LaClare who sits tied for second with Flin Flon’s Chris Rauckman in the SJHL with 28 points (18g, 10a).  The team also has 1994 born Devin Chase (10g, 9a, 19pts) and 1995 born Cody Young (5g, 13a, 18pts) and just recently added 1995 born Darcy DeRoose and his 17 points (9g, 8a) from the Estevan Bruins.  They also added WHL experience recently when they traded 1994 born Stefen Seel to the Grand Prairie Storm of the AJHL for 1996 born Braden Oleksyn who has three points (2g, 1a) in his first five games.

The Klippers are coming off a surprising loss last night to La Ronge, when the Wolves scored 4 goals on 14 shots and chasing Weninger from the net.

Flin Flon returns to the ice after blowing out the Meville Millionaires, 7-0, at home on Saturday Night, highlighted by the new line of Alex Smith (Edmonton, AB) and the new acquired Brandon Switzer (Brandon, MB) and Joel Kocur (Edson, AB) and their combined nine points.

Also recently acquired 1994 born goalie Adam Beukeboom was solid in his debut for the maroon and white as he turned aside all 21 shots he faced.

After tonight the Bombers hit the road for a pair of games, starting in Melville on Saturday and finishing up on Sunday in Nipawin.
