Head Coach and General Manager Mike Reagan is pleased to announce the details of two separate deals to two Alberta Junior Hockey League teams.
First, the Bombers have traded 1995 born Erik Pedersen (Airdrie, AB) to the Whitecourt Wolverines in exchange for 1995 born Brandon Switzer (Brandon, MB).
Switzer has played in 22 games this season for the Wolverines registering 21 points (9g, 12a) and 26 penalty minutes. The 5’10, 172 pounder played in 55 games last year finishing up with 26 points (12g, 14a) and 101 penalty minutes. He also registered 3 points (1g, 2a) in 5 playoff games.
The Brandon Manitoba native had 61 points (23g, 38a) in his final season of AAA Midget with his home town Wheat Kings in 42 games. In 119 career games Switzer finished with 112 points (49g, 63a).
The former OCN Bantam Draft pick saw action in the Manitoba Juinor Hockey League when he played in two games with the Blizzard adding an assist and played another game with the Neepawa Natives in 2012-13.
The Bombers also added depth to their goaltending when they acquired 1994 born Adam Beukeboom (Sundre, AB) from the Grand Prairie Storm for future considerations.
Beukeboom played in 10 games for the bottom dwelling Storm where he had a 2-8 record along with a 3.88 goal against average and a 0.869 save percentage. Prior to the Storm he played with the Calgary Royals and Calgary Mustangs. Most recently Beukeboom spent the past two seasons with the Drumheller Dragons where he had a career best 2.55 goals against average and 0.906 save percentage over 52 games. He played in 17 games last season with the Dragons before being called up to the Prince George Cougars of the Western Hockey League.
The 6’0 190 pounder has 32 career games of experience in the WHL with the Regina Pats and the Prince George Cougars.
