Bombers hit the road tonight against La Ronge, then host Melfort a pair Saturday and Sunday.

After a little more than a week off of game action, the Flin Flon Bombers return to the ice tonight in their first of three over the weekend.

Tonight it begins in La Ronge when the Bombers and Ice Wolves clash for the second time this season. (Game Time 7:00 pm – Radio: 102.9 CFAR).

It was all Flin Flon that in the first meeting between the two clubs when they met at the Whitney Forum just over a month ago.  That night Austin Calladine (Saskatoon, SK) had two goals and Alex Smith (Edmonton, AB) had four points (1g, 3a) as seven different Bombers scored in an 8-1 pounding.

La Ronge (6-9-2-0) sits last in the Sherwood Division, seven points behind the second place Bombers (8-2-3-2) and heads into tonight’s game losers of their past four straight, with one coming in OT.

They have the SJHL’s second most goals allowed (61) in 17 games and have only scored more goals (39) than Estevan (33) and Notre Dame (33).

After tonight the Bombers host the Sherwood Divison’s top club for a pair of games at the Whitney Forum.

Melfort (10-3-0-3) head to Flin Flon two points up on Flin Flon in the divison and sit second overall in the SJHL (Saturday Game Time 7:30 pm – Radio: 102.9 CFAR, Sunday Game Time 6:00 pm).

Everyone will remember the last time they met, last week in Melfort when after taking a two goal lead into the third period, the Bombers lost to the Mustangs 6-5 in overtime.

Melfort plays in Humboldt tonight and are coming off a shootout loss against the Battlefords North Stars on Wednesday.

This is the third of four games in a two week span Flin Flon and Melfort will face against each other.  Reminder that Sunday’s game was originally scheduled for Monday but was changed to 6:00 on Sunday.
