For the second straight week a Flin Flon Bomber has been named the SJHL’s POW.

On a team that leads the SJHL in goals by a large margin, it’s no surprise that for the second straight week a member of the Flin Flon Bombers has been named the SJHL’s Canalta Player of the Week as Alex Smith (Edmonton, AB) picks up the honors for week ending October 6.

Smith, who was acquired in the off season in the Dillan McCombie deal, picked up five points (1g, 4a) in two weekend games.  This was capped off with a Gordie Howe Hatrick on Saturday night when he scored a goal, added three assists and picked up his first fight of the season.

The Bombers were able to pick up three of a possible four points over the weekend against the Notre Dame Hounds and La Ronge Ice Wolves.

The 1995 born forward has six points (1g, 6a) along with 27 penalty minutes, through seven games on the season.
