Flin Flon finalizes Devin Buffalo deal by adding 1996 born defenseman Brandon Masson from Drumheller.

Head Coach and General Manager Mike Reagan announced today the acquisition of 1996 born defenseman Brandon Masson (Oak Lake, MB) from the Drumheller Dragons of the AJHL.  This deal finalizes the trade from the January 10th deadline when Flin Flon sent goalie Devin Buffalo to the Dragons.

“We’re excited to have Brandon join our club,” said Reagan from Saskatoon, SK, where a number of the Bombers are taking part in the annual SJHL’s Showcase.  “What we liked is that he’s gritty and tough to play against, something that fits into the identity of the team.”

Masson played in 5 games with the Dragons this season before joining the Bombers.  The 6’1, 185 pounder played in 8 games with Virden of the MJHL last season as a 17 year old, registering a goal.

Masson 122 games in the Manitoba AAA Midget League, between the Brandon Wheat Kings and the Southwest Cougars.  He had 43 points (4g, 39a) and 281 penalty minutes.

“With the addition of Brandon we’ve added some very important depth to our blueline.”
