For the second straight week, the Flin Flon Bombers will welcome back a familiar face from the WHL as 1995 born forward Austin Calladine (Saskatoon, SK) has been reassigned by the Swift Current Broncos.
“He’s another offensive weapon to our team,” said Head Coach and General Manager Mike Reagan. “It’s always nice to get back your leading scorer from last season.”
Calladine suited up in 46 games last season with the Bombers finishing up with 34 points (17g, 17) to lead the team and 75 penalty minutes. He had two assists in the best of five series against the Estevan Bruins.
After accepting a tryout offer with the Broncos, Calladine didn’t appear in either one of the team’s first two games over the weekend to start the WHL season. He is the veteran of 37 WHL games with the Calgary Hitmen and Saskatoon Blades.
Calladine will be in town on Thursday and should be in the lineup this weekend when the Bombers host the Estevan Bruins and the Humboldt Broncos.
