For a young Flin Flon Bombers team, Saturday night could have disasterous.
The team was coming off an emotional 3-2 double overtime loss on Friday night, despite outshooting and dominating most of the game.
For an inexperience team, they could have come out Saturday night in game 2 somewhat deflated, but that wasn't the case.
For the second straight night, the Bombers came from behind to force extra time, and at the 8:49 of the first overtime forward Tyson Empey scored his second of the game, and third of the playoffs to elevate the team to a 4-3 win.
Also for the second straight game, Estevan would open up the scoring when Bruins forward Lynden Pastachak stepped over the blue line and fired one glove side past starter Simon Hofley.
That lead was short lived when Empey scored his first of the game just over a minute later, putting a rebound past Bruins goalie Matt Gibney.
It was all Estevan in the second period as they out chanced and out played the team for most of the middle frame, firing 20 shots on the Bombers goal, beating Hofley once to take a 2-1 lead into the third period.
The Bruins would take a 3-1 lead just after the six minute mark of the third period.
It was all Flin Flon after that, when forward Dean Allison scored two goals to tie up the game, and force extra time for the second straight game.
For Allison he finished up the game with four points (2g, 2a) assisting on both of Empey's goals. Empey would pick up a helper on Allison's first of the game.
Both teams hit the road after the game last night and will now take a one day break before they resume their series tomorrow night at the Whitney Forum for Game 3 with Game 4 going on Tuesday night.
