The Bombers look to build off the momentum of their shoot out win in Notre Dame with a match up against the Weyburn Red Wings.

After an emotional victory on Thursday night which snapped the team’s seven game losing streak, the Flin Flon Bombers hope to continue and make some more ground in the SJHL’s playoff picture when they take on Weyburn in the third game of their currently four game road swing.

It was a two goal performance by Austin Evans, a shootout goal by Austin Calladine and a 28 save performace against the Notre Dame Hounds that helped the team get to within three points of a playoff spot.

“We have to be happy about the win, but move on from there to make a move in the standings,” said Head Coach and General Manager Mike Reagan.

Flin Flon is three points back of a Weyburn Red Wings team that are on a four game winning streak of their own right now after wins against Notre Dame, Estevan, La Ronge and Nipawin.

Flin Flon holds a 2-1 season series advantage against the Wings with 4-1 amd 4-2 victories, but haven’t been able to win in Weyburn in their only meeting there this season.  The Wings won 3-2 in October.

Flin Flon finished up the road trip on Saturday when they face off against the Bruins in Estevan.
