The SJHL Trade Deadline is tomorrow, but the Flin Flon Bombers have already begun to make moves.
Head Coach and General Manager Mike Reagan announced today that they have traded 1994 born forward Dillan McCombie (Flin Flon, MB) to the Dauphin Kings of the MJHL in exchange for future considerations.
McCombie is in his fourth season with the club and has totaled 127 points (60g, 67a) and 367 penalty minutes over 193 games. The hometown kid started his junior hockey career with the Bombers at 16.
“It was a hard decision to make,” said Reagan. “But we had to grant his wishes as the pressures of playing at home were starting to get to him.”
McCombie joins a Dauphin Kings club that is currently in second place in the Sherwood Division of the MJHL and a team that is hosting the Western Canada Cup this season. The winner of the WCC gets a bid into the Royal Bank Cup.
“We want to see the kid enjoy playing hockey again and get back to being the player that he can be,” commented Reagan. “Sometimes you have to make the hard decisions on what is best for the player and Dillan needed a change.”
