Flin Flon hosts the Nipawin Hawks in their last game before Friday's SJHL Trade Deadline.

In what might be a whirlwind of activity surround the Flin Flon Bombers in the next couple of days, the team prepares for their matchup against the Nipawin Hawks who visit the Whitney Forum tonight in a Sherwood Division battle.

The Hawks are currently first in the division; four points up on the last place Bombers and have won both games against Flin Flon this season.  The first coming in September when they edged the Bombers at the Whitney Forum, 4-3, with the most recent being a 3-0 shutout at the Cage in October.

Flin Flon comes into tonight’s game at a crossroads.  The team is last in the Sherwood Division, but only four points back of the first place Hawks, with the SJHL Trade Deadline coming on Friday the team; doesn’t know what direction they want to go down.

The team hasn’t been great in their last 10 games, sitting with a 3-5-0-2 record, and has lost four straight dating back to before the Christmas break, including a 6-3 defeat at the hands of the Kramer Division last place club Notre Dame Hounds.

Back in the lineup tonight is 1993 born defenseman Brock Hounsell, who’s been sidelined since before Christmas and should give a boost to a blue line that had two 1995 and a 1997 born defensemen.

The team also is offering $5.00 tickets for tonight’s game.
