The Flin Flon Bombers dropped their first exhibition game last night to the Nipawin Hawks, 4-3, which saw two rosters full of rookies.
Scoring for the Bombers was Seamus Maguire, Ram Brar and Nicholas Shumlanski.
“I was really happy with the game last night and the compete in our rookies,” said Head Coach and General Manager Mike Reagan, “the outcome could have been different but we ran into a hot goalie.”
The team has a quick turnaround in the exhibition schedule; they take on the MJHL’s Swan Valley Stampeders tonight at the Whitney Forum.
The team will ice mostly rookies tonight again with a few veterans sprinkled in.
Newly acquired forwards Justin Rasmussen and Jean Kristoff Grenier have made their way to Flin Flon and will be at the game tonight. They won’t be in the lineup but Reagan thinks they will be in on Friday when the Bombers travel to OCN to take on the Blizzard.
ICE CHIPS: The Bombers released five players last night after the game. That now leaves 34 players, the team has to make decisions and drop eight more before the September 20th season opener in Melfort.
