Defensman Brandt Weldon joins Riley Storzuk and Brett Penner on the Falcons roster.

The Flin Flon Bombers are pleased to announce that 1992 born defenseman Brandt Weldon (The Pas, MB) has committed to Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons NCAA Division III men’s hockey team for the 2013-14 season.

Weldon played 118 games with the Bombers compiling 51 points (22g, 29a) and 159 penalty minutes, after coming over in a trade with the Okotoks Oilers of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.  His best season was in 2011-12 when he had 31 points (15g, 16a) in 55 games.

“Brandt is a great guy, great team guy and an excellent player,” said Head Coach and General Manager Mike Reagan, “He’ll fit in nicely in the NCAA game.”

This will make three players from the Bombers going to Concordia, joining forwards Riley Storzuk and Brett Penner.

The Falcons finished last season with a 7-18-0 record in a tough Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association.

In total six players are moving on from the 2012-13 edition of the Flin Flon Bombers to post secondary education.  Besides the three going to Concordia, Dylan Balaski (SAIT), Konrad Litke (Augustana) and Jason Wark (NAIT) all committed to schools for the upcoming season.
