The Flin Flon Bombers are excited to announce that 1992 born forward Brett Penner (Medstead, SK) has committed to the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons NCAA Division III men’s hockey team for the 2013-14 season.
Penner finished up his third season with the Bombers with 29 points (15g, 14a) in 44 regular season games to go along with 9 points (6g, 3a) in 11 playoff games. In total the 6’0, 170 pounder compiled 90 points (40g, 50a) in 136 career games 127 of those with the Flin Flon Bombers who acquired Penner from the Kindersley Klippers.
“Brett is a very skilled player, and he showed a lot of change and maturity coming back to us this season,” commented Head Coach and General Manager Mike Reagan, “he’s evolved as a player and as a human being and we couldn’t be happier for him.”
The Falcons finished last season with a 7-18-0 record in a tough Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association.
"We improved our team speed with the addition of Brett Penner," said CUW Assistant Coach Zach Gaynor, "His knack for scoring goals and vision on the ice will be a great addition to our program."
In total four players so far are moving on to further their careers through the collegiate path. Earlier in the off season Dylan Balaski (SAIT), Konrad Litke (Augustana) and Jason Wark (NAIT) all committed to schools for the upcoming season.
