The Flin Flon Bombers were 3 minutes and 42 seconds away from stealing game one before Logan Sproule tied the game up on a Bronco power play. The Bombers trailed 1-0 and 2-1 before taking a 3-2 third period lead on goals from Dallen Hall and a pair of goals from Cam Blair. The two teams went back and forth in the first OT period with many qaulity scoring chances. At the 9 minute mark of the 2nd overtime period Niel Landry would tuck a mishandled puck into an empty net that would end the game and give the Broncos a 1-0 series lead.

Game 2 saw a great start for the Bombers with Jason Wark firing a puck just over the bar and Dillan McCombie ringing one off the crossbar with less then 2minutes gone in the 1st period. What looked liked it was going to be a great 1st period for the maroon and white quickly turned into the Devin Buffalo show. After taking a penalty mid way through the first, the Bombers were then put on their heels for the rest of the period. Humboldt scored with less then 2 minutes left in the 1st on a back door pass to Justin Lund who was able to redirect the puck past a sprawling Buffalo. The 2nd period became a special teams war as both teams enjoyed countless powerplays of all varieties. With 11 seconds left in the 2nd, the Broncos would take a 2 goal lead on a deflection. The 3rd period was completely different as the reffs finally let the teams play. Brody Robinson would score with 6 minutes remaining to pull the Bombers within 1. With a minute remaining the Bombers had 2 glorious chances as Jason Wark had a point blank chance in the slot and Josh Roach came straight down the gut as the seas parted after a pump fake much similar to game 2 in Nipawin. Only this time Roach didnt get the shot where he wanted it. The Bombers would fall by the score of 2-1.

The Bombers now find themselves down 2-0 as the Broncos did their job of winning both games at home. Now its the Bombers turn to hold serve and try to send this series back to Humboldt all square. By no means are the Bombers hanging thier heads as they had a great chances to win game 1 and on the back of Devin Buffalo in game 2 were once again close at stealing a game in Humboldt.

Game 3 and 4 take place on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Whitney Forum in front of whats to be expected as a big and boisterous crowd. You can get rush tickets at Pharmasave.
