Bombers move on to North Final

The Flin Flon Bombers adavance to the North final to take on the Humboldt Broncos after a 4-0 win over the Nipawin Hawks on Saturday night infront of 1340 people. Andy Blanke got the Bombers rolling in the first period when he was able to sneak a puck through Davis Jones 5 hole to give the Bombers a 1-0 first period lead.  Dylan Balaski and Jason Wark would add to the lead in the second period giving the Bombers a 3-0 lead heading into the 3rd period. Devin Buffalo would shut the door in the 3rd and Andy Blanke would score his second of the night to cap off a 4-0 win and a 4-2 series win over the 2nd place Nipwain Hawks.

 

ICE CHIPS: 4 Bombers (Wark-7pts, Blanke-6pts, Penner-6pts, Boehm-6pts) would end the series with a point per game while the Bombers out scored the Hawks 29-15 in the series. The Bombers scored 3 PP goals and 1 short handed goal while not allowing a Nipawin Hawks PP goal. The 50/50 pot reached $14,000 with the Trevor Thompson taking home $7000.

 

The Bombers now get set to take on the Humboldt Broncos in the North Final. Humbold will host games 1 and 2 this Friday while the series will shift to Flin Flon for games 3 and 4 next Tuesday/Wednesday. Game 5 is scheduled for Friday March 29th in Humboldt, Game 6 will be Sunday March 31st in Flin Flon with game 7 taking place in Humboldt on April 2nd. All games are scheduled for 7:30 local times.

Tickets will be able available for Games 3 and 4 starting Wednesday at the Bomber Office (204-687-4404) or at Pharmasave. Season Ticket holders will be able to guarantee their seats by purchasing their tickets from the Bomber office only. All other tickets purchased are rush seating.
