Two goals in the third sink Flin Flon.

Despite having leads of 1-0 and 2-1, the Flin Flon Bombers dropped their fourth in a row 3-2 against the Battlefords North Stars last night, their second of four on the road.

Riley Storuzk opened up the scoring in the first of a feed from Brandt Weldon and Brett Boehm.  For Storzuk, it was his first game back after sitting out Tuesday’s game with an ankle injury.

The Stars tied the game up by the end of the first with Kyle Hall scoring on the power play.

It would stay that way until the 19:59 mark of the second when Dillan McCombie scored on a shootout after being hauled down while on a shorthanded breakaway.

That’s all the offence the Bombers would muster as the Stars score two in the third to take the win.

Things did get interesting with the Bomber’s goalie out on the bench for an extra attacker when Josh Roach would look like he tied up the score, but it was quickly waved off as Storzuk got a goalie interference penalty on the play.

Next up is a day off today for the team before they play Friday and Saturday against the Kindersley Klippers before the Christmas break.

ICE CHIPS:  Flin Flon was unable to score on the man advantage going 0 for 5.  The Stars scored early in the game on one power play finishing up 1 for 5.  ---  With the injury bug hitting the team, the Bombers have brought up a few of their prospects for the road trip.  Last night Prince Albert’s Evan Patrick suited up.  Patrick plays for the Swift Current Legionnaires of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League where he has 20 points (9g, 11a) in 26 games.  ---  Cam Blair will be out of the lineup starting Friday.  Blair has been battling a knee injury and will require surgery.
