Flin Flon drops their first game of their current road trip in La Ronge, 4-1.

In his last start Devin Buffalo allowed three goals on seven shots and was pulled from the Flin Flon net.  Last night he bounced back with a 42 save performance, but it wasn’t enough as the Flin Flon Bombers dropped their third straight 4-1.

Jared Iron scored twice and Graham Smerek and Jessey Touchette each added singles, Touchette into an empty cage, as the Ice Wolves (13-20-0-3) defeated the Bombers (21-12-0-0) for the first time this season.

Cole McCaig was the lone scorer for the Bombers, his seventh of the season, with Brody Robinson and Brock Hounsell picking up the helpers.

It was the start of a four game in five night road trip for the Bombers going into the Christmas break.  The team is also dealing with a plaque of injuries as they were without the services of Riley Storzuk, Dylan Balaski, Danys Chartrand and newcomer Kevin Lacroix with various ailments.

Next up is a match up against the Battlefords North Stars tonight at the North Battleford Civic Centre.  The team will then have a day off before they finish up the 2012 portion of the schedule with a double header against the Kindersley Klippers Friday and Saturday.

ICE CHIPS:  The Bombers went 0 for 2 last night on the power play while the Ice Wolves were unable to capitalize on their four chances.  ---  The Bombers now move to below .500 on the road this season with a 7-8 record.  ---  The team is now 3-7 in their last 10 and are now 2-4 in the month of December.  ---  With the injuries to the club the team had some new faces in the lineup last night.  Bo Clinton and Rob Cameron both played last night and have seen action with the Maroon and White this season, but newcomer Carson Boehm played his first game with the Bombers.  Boehm is brothers with current Bomber Brett Boehm.
