Rookie forward Brett Boehm makes the NHL Central Scouting's preliminary list.

The National Hockey League and the NHL Central Scouting released their 2013 draft rankings and on the list is the Flin Flon Bombers Brett Boehm.

Boehm (10-19-1994, Martensville, SK) is currently in his first season in the SJHL and sits first in rookie scoring with 27 points (15g, 12a) in 19 games.  He leads all rookies in all offensive categories and sits seventh in the league.

He was one of 27 CJHL players listed in the NHL Central Scouting Preliminary Rankings and only SJHL’er to be ranked.  There are 10 leagues in the CJHL.

“We are extremely excited for Brett,” commented Head Coach and General Manager Mike Reagan, “Brett is offensively gifted and is working on his overall game to become a complete player.”

Boehm was the leading scoring of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League last season with the Beardy’s Blackhawks and received a scholarship to the University of Minnesota Duluth.

If drafted, he will be in a group of former Flin Flon Bombers who have had looks from NHL clubs with the most recent being Andrew Johnston who signed with the Philadelphia Flyers this past season and is currently playing with the Adirondack Phantoms of the AHL.  Former Bomber captain Michael Young, who is playing with the University of Nebrask-Omaha, was invited to Philadelphia Flyer’s rookie camp two seasons ago and last year former Bomber Jesse Mychan, who is currently with the Tri-City Americans of the WHL, attended the Vancouver Canucks rookie camp.

He received a C ranking, which is considered a late round prospect.
