Boehm, McCombie To Try Out For Canada West

Two 1994 born forwards look to crack Canada West roster.

Two members of the Flin Flon Bombers have moved onto the main camp for Team West to play in this season’s World Junior A Challenge.

 

1994 born forwards Brett Boehm (Martinsville, SK) and Dillan McCombie (Flin Flon, MB) will join five other SJHLer’s in Calgary next week to vie for a spot on the defending champion Canada West roster.

 

McCombie is in his third season with the Bombers were the Flin Flon native has six point (4g, 2a) in 12 games so far.  He has 71 points (30g, 41a) in 106 career SJHL games.

 

Boehm in his first with the team leads the league in goals with nine to go along with six assists to have him sitting in eighth in the league.

 

This is the first time since Cole Wilson made the Canada West team in 2008 to make it this far in the camp.  Defenseman Michael Young also made the team in 2007 but couldn’t play due to an injury.

 

Seven SJHL’ers are a part of 60 total skating at camp at the end of October in Calgary.  The tournament runs from November 5-11 in Yarmouth, NS.  Canada West is joined by Canada East and a team representing Russia, United States, Czech Republic and Switzerland.
